Free Dream Analysis
Most of us have a desire to understand our dreams better. But just because you feel that you would be a better person if you could analyze your dreams and know what they are trying to say to you, that doesn’t mean you want to give a psychologist $125 an hour to delve into your mind to try to sort it all out. This is not say that the services of these trained professionals is not worthwhile. But if you can begin to sort out your dream life and analyze the meaning of all the images and symbols you see in your dreams and do it without having to pay those high doctor's fees, that is a good start to knowing your mind better.
When you set out to find some free guides to dream interpretation and analysis, the internet is going to be the first stop for any of us. There are two areas of research to be careful about especially when researching dream interpretation online. First of all, don’t believe everything you read in Wikipedia or any other site that builds its content from user submissions. Wikipedia is only as good as the last person who posted an article about the subject. So you might read a scholarly article there that really does handle the topic of understanding dreams. Or you might read an article by someone no more knowledgeable than you are but someone who is a good deal more opinionated about the subject.
Secondly, check carefully who you are allowing you to teach the art of dream analysis online. The dreams we have are events that happen in the mind. It takes trained people who have studied well to understand how the mind works. So the person writing about your dreams should have a grounding in what these trained individuals think and know about the subconscious mind and how it "speaks" to us through dreams. Also, be aware that dream analysis is often mixed up with using dreams to predict the future which can tie you right in with mystics, fortune tellers and psychic friends. That is no place to get scholarly training in how to understand your dreams.
There have been a lot of work done by some very smart psychologists like Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung about what our dreams mean and how we should interpret and understand them. You can find a wealth of information about what these men have to teach you at the most prominent source of free information there was before the internet, your local library. And you can use the local library for free.
Sometimes these psychologists are hard to read. But by finding well written interpretations of their teachings, you can soon become an expert in dream analysis yourself. And if you just get enough expertise to understand your own dreams a little bit better and you did so without spending any money, then you are ahead of the game of learning more about this fascinating field of human psychology.
